Research Interests

Cancer aggressiveness, metastasis, drug resistance, cancer stem cell self-renewal/stemness, and disease relapse are some of the critical problems in the management of the disease. My laboratory is interested in targeting metabolic and molecular pathways in cancer and cancer stem cells by using preclinical cancer models and computer-aided drug discovery approach. We reported novel notch signaling inhibitor(s), and apoptosis inducer agents in cancer and cancer stem-like cells. For better management of the disease, we are trying to identify putative prognostic, diagnostic, and therapeutic biomarkers associated with cancer and cancer stemness at the gene and RNA (coding and non-coding) level. Recently we reported hub genes and miRNAs associated with the pathophysiology of cancer and cancer stemness/self-renewal property. My laboratory is also actively involved in the identification of medicinal properties of natural products against infectious and non-infectious diseases in collaboration with eminent scientists/research bodies across the world.
