Teaching & Research

The campus of the university is environment friendly, high-tech with modern facilities and ICT-enabled learning resources according to theTeaching & Research Lab requirements of the curriculum and norms of statutory/regulatory bodies. The university campus is designed according to its vision and strategic plan. The university has adequate state-of-the-art infrastructure facilities for teaching and learning. There is a total of 36 classrooms, out of these 21 classrooms are of 65 sqm areas having a capacity of 50 students and 12 classrooms are of 42 sqm area having capacity of 30 students, 02 classrooms of 19 sqm and one classroom of 16 sqm. A 190 seater seminar hall is available on the third floor. Each department is provided with well-equipped laboratories for teaching and research on the second, third, fourth and fifth floor and Computer Centre with the latest IT infrastructure on the third floor of the Aryabhata Academic Block. The state-of- the-art teaching and research labs of the departments are equipped with light microscopes, RT PCR, Gradient PCR, UV-Visible Spectrophotometers, Multi-mode plate readers, Electrophoresis units, Gel documentation systems, high precision water baths, Ultra-low temperature deep freezers, high speed cooling centrifuges, Vacuum Concentrator, Nano Drop 3000, CO2 incubators, BOD incubators/shakers and water purification systems and other small equipment’s for the day to day experiments. 


Highlights of Research Infrastructure

The university excels in basic and applied research in the field of biological, physical, chemical, earth and environmental sciences. All departments are focusing on their thrust areas of research to achieve the mission of the university. The research in these disciplines also addresses some local health issues like cancer, diabetes, birth-defects, infertility, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases; environmental issues like water pollution and air pollution; solid waste management; agricultural issues like excessive use of chemical Teaching & Research Labpesticides/fertilizers and stubble burning; bioenergy; micro-climatic issues like abiotic stress, plant and algal biodiversity and bioprospecting of locally available plants. The focus of research in social science and humanities prominently includes development economics, human rights, environmental and
constitutional governance, political communication and debunking fake news, sustainable development, technological, pedagogical and content knowledge, robotics in education, cultural intelligence and adjustments, special education, climate politics, inclusive growth, defense and strategies, relations in South Asian context, diaspora studies and cultural studies.

The Central Instrumentation Laboratory is pivotal in supporting the research activities of the various Science and Technology departments. It has Ultrahigh Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC), Field-Emission Scanning Electron microscope, Confocal Laser Scanning Microscope with Fluorescence Correlation Spectroscopy, Flow-cytometer, Inductively Coupled Plasma Mass Spectrometer (ICPMS), 96 capillary 3730XL high throughput DNA sequencer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, Gas Chromatographic Mass Spectrometer, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer, Microvoltmeter Biochemical Clinical Analyzer. Common animal cell culture, plant tissue culture, and GIS lab facility is also available to the students and researchers. 

The Animal House of the university is an exclusive building with 08 rooms, one change room and office and will be functional soon. A green house was built in the City campus in 2013 and was operational till 2021. In 2021 it has been 
shifted to Main campus Ghudda. It consists of two compartments, climate-controlled room with lighting and both heating and ECS cooling facility and humidification.
