Research on bacterial pathogenesis has focused on acute infections, however the increasing research revealed that the microbial diseases are supplemented by chronic infections caused by bacteria growing as biofilms (organized communities of aggregated cells encased in matrix) which are resistance to antibiotics. Our study is focused on pathogenicity of bacteria under biofilm mode of growth, host-pathogen interaction, novel strategies to combat pathogenic biofilms. We are studying to explore beneficial microbes biofilms for human benefits.
