Central University of Punjab Day Care and Early Childhood Learning Centre (CUPB-DC&ECLC) for the children of teachers, officers, nonteaching staff, research scholars and regular full-time students of Central University of Punjab is functional since 1st Feb 2013. The Day Care Centre offers a care- free environment for the parents providing the facility of keeping their children during the working hours inside the university campus.
The kids were taken care of by one teacher and one child care attendant with special care to infants. The kids were engaged for the full day with learning and extra-curricular activities. The afterschool facility has also been offered to school going children. The kids are happily involved with various learning activities and outdoor games which is integral for their growth and development.
The Day Care Centre was earlier functional in the Old City Campus with an air-conditioned room, a kitchen and all the basic amenities such as refrigerator, microwave oven and water purifier. The Day Care Centre has been shifted to Main Campus of the University in 2020 which is operational near residential block. The Centre has the space of two houses with four rooms, two kitchens and two living rooms. It has a colourful play area with multi-activity play station, activity toys, books for all age groups, riders, baby cribs/beds, bouncer/rockers and walkers for infants. The outdoor play area has been equipped with merry-go-round, swings, slide and see-saw.
Objectives
The objective of the Day Care & Early Childhood Learning Centre is:
- To provide the teachers, officers, non-teaching staff, research scholars and regular full-time students of CUPB the facility of keeping their children under good care during the working hours right inside the university campus.
- To involve the children in various child developmental activities.
- To help the working parents in pursuing their job and / or academic career by providing high quality care and comfort to their kids.
- To provide early learning by engaging the kids with activities and pre-school preparations.
Nature of Assistance
The Day Care Centre has a child-friendly environment of large colourful displays and activity centres with play materials that a child can take and play on his/her own, besides the guided activity. There is a separate space for activities, rest and meals.

The Centre has the space of two houses with four rooms, two kitchens and two living rooms with air- conditioning, furniture and other accessories. Kids Activities at Day Care & Early Childhood Learning Centre
The kids of the Day Care and Early Learning Centre are involved in entertaining, patriotic and educational activities. They have always been participated in Independence Day and Republic celebrations of the University. The festivals are always preparing and teaching them the importance of environment and celebrating them without harm to nature. The kids happily celebrate Diwali, Children’s day, Janmashtami with their dancing moves, poems and awareness talks.
